I am going to really PO'd if Dallas cuts Alex Tanney or tries to slip him through free agency. This kid is good and we need to start developing a replacement QB for Romo. I do not want to go through the Quincy Carter era again.
Tanney has accuracy, he looks good in the pocket, he doesn't panic and he could develop into something special. Why keep a 4th or 5th someone that will have their fat butt on the bench the entire year and get dumped next season?
Dallas tried to sneak Matt Moore through waivers and Miami picked him up. If they cut Tanney he will be picked up by the Jets, Buffalo or someone who needs a stater or a good backup.
We need to keep him.
Did anyone hear/see the interview with Stephen Jones at half time during the Cincinnati game? I didn't get the half time interviews. I know he was asked about keeping three quarterbacks and I was wondering what his response was.

Defense
The defense is looking good. I like the way the Tampa 2 is attacking the ball, the qb and anything else they can.
I never understood why we went from the 4-3 to the 3-4. Other then the flex I think the only defense we played was the 4-3 (until Bill came along). Dallas seemed to understand the 4-3 and had great defenses with that system; now that they have gone back it is looking like they may be returning to the old days when our defenses played like they should.
There were two or three games last year where the defense gave up last quarter drives that beat us. I am glad Rob Ryan is gone, after last season I had enough of him.

Schedule
I just looked at the schedule. If the Cowboys can get past the Giants at home for the opener, they could jump off to a very good start. Their next serious game is against the Redskins and it's at home as well. If they can win their NFC East home games this year (shocker), they'd have a great start.

Defense
I know, I know it is the first preseason game. However the defense did some things I have been wanting them to do for years.........rush the ball, go for it, put pressure on OL, QB, RB and have the corners to cover.
Overall they did a decent job. There looked to be a few SNAFUS, like leaving men open in the secondary. Not sure if that was a mix up in the back field or if the scheme let them loose.
Regardless, they look as if they have the potential to be a good defense. I like the 4-3 much better than the 3-4 perhaps it is because that is what Jimmy used for the SuperBowl wins.
Cool Aide, sip. LOL

Romo Play Sunday or Not
Do you think Romo should play in the first preseason game of the year? I would like to see him take the first set up downs only.

OL-DL Lines
I'm humored with the blind optimism heading into each and every year with our Cowboys. The fact is we are weakest at maybe the most important positions in football next to QB. We are thin and vaguely talented in the trenches.
Yes, Demarcus Ware will be Demarcus Ware but beyond that, who do you trust to stop Alfred Morris and Robert Griffin III on 3rd and 3 and they are running the read-option? Ratliffe has had his share of Tide and is in the spin cycle. Hatcher is a training camp hero like he is every year before some injury takes him out of his groove or he forgets that the real games don't start until September. Lissemore, Spencer, and even Crawford before the achilles injury were all no more than one year wonders or guys with the dreaded, potential. Even though I must say I do like Ben Bass, the DL is nothing to cause fear among the NFC East.
The OL doesn't even need analysis. Doug Free, Bernardeau, and Livings are starters. Yeah go ahead and pencil in 7-9. We have a tough schedule and the spine of our team is pathetic. No OL and DL strength, no playoffs.
I guess I'll rely on Fantasy Football... oh wait, I suck at that too. It's going to be a long football season.
